Dr Lucy Kivuti-Bitok

Dr Lucy Kivuti-Bitok is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Nairobi.   Acknowledging the inroads Mathematics has gained in every discipline and the modern view of management as a system of mathematical models and processes, Dr Kivuti-Bitok obtained her PhD in Mathematical modelling (Health Systems Engineering) from the University of Nairobi and a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the University of Otago where she worked on System Dynamics modelling of Health impact of Bicycling in New Zealand’s major cities. She obtained her Master in Health Sector Management from Roskilde University / Galilee College and BScN from the University of Nairobi.

She is an accomplished author in health systems management and consultant in System Dynamics Modelling. With over 20 years of experience as a researcher and academician, Lucy takes pride in the infinite nature and versatility of the nursing profession which enabled her to venture into the world of mathematical modelling, health systems engineering and system dynamics modelling. She is championing the application of System Dynamics modelling in UHC.

Prior to working at the University of Nairobi, Lucy worked with the Ministry of Health as a nurse Manager.
