About Assumpta

Dr. Assumpta Ude is a Nigerian trained Public Health Nurse-Midwife, American Board-Certified Clinician, Health Disparities Researcher and Public Health Nurse Consultant. Assumpta has been a GNPHN Council Member since 2019. Assumpta is passionate about global health programs and initiatives that engage rural communities and ethnic minority population at risk for diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Through her non-profit organization platform, she addresses real-world challenges to diabetes and cardiovascular disease using strategic innovative grass root community health education outreaches.

Her community health education and promotion initiatives also include programs addressing TB, HIV and those targeting vulnerable women and children, underserved seniors, retired older persons and their families. She is a strong advocate of healthy ageing, nutrition, sleep, exercise, and stress management lifestyle. Assumpta also provides global academic and professional mentorship to various university students and graduates. She is an Author and published in various peer-reviewed scientific journals. Assumpta enjoys gardening, non-fictional documentaries, hiking and traveling. Married to Professor George Ude, and they are blessed with adult-children serving in their various professional fields.
