Global Network of Public Health Nursing
Supporting public health nurses in developing practice across the world
2025 End of year message from the Vice President

Dear Members and supporters

As we draw the curtain on another remarkable year, the Global Network of Public Health Nurses (GNPHN) wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you — our dedicated members, passionate supporters, and generous sponsors. Your commitment and enthusiasm have been the bedrock of our success in 2025.
This year, we proudly hosted the 7th International GNPHN Conference in the vibrant city of Calgary. It was an extraordinary gathering, attended by delegates from around the globe. The event was graced with superb speakers who shared invaluable insights, and it fostered inspiring discussions that have surely ignited new ideas and strategies in public health nursing. The conference was a testament to the power of collaboration and the shared vision within our community.

We are thrilled that our membership community grew this year reflecting the increasing recognition of the importance of public health nursing and the value of being part of a global network for public health nurses. We are thrilled to have more voices contributing to our mission and vision.

We are immensely grateful of the support from our sponsors and members. Your contributions have enabled us to achieve our goals and continue advocating for public health nursing worldwide. Your support has also been crucial in facilitating the Network.

As we look to the future, we are excited to share that 2026 holds promising developments for the GNPHN including a new series of webinars with guest speakers. We are also eager to unveil more exciting news: our next conference will take place in Adelaide, Australia in May, 2027. Together, we can forge more new paths and create even more opportunities for growth and collaboration.

As we bid farewell to 2025, it is also a time of transition for our leadership. This message marks my last post for the GNPHN. As I have now stepped aside, please join me in welcoming Dr. Zahra Shajani as the new Chair and Dr Diana Snell as Vice Chair, residents of Calgary, Canada. Both bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their roles, and we are excited to embark on this new chapter under their guidance. Their expertise promises to usher in exciting changes and innovations that will further strengthen our global network and impact public health nursing positively.

Thank you once again for a fantastic year. We wish you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year. We look forward to continuing this journey with you in 2026.
Very best wishes
Cheryll
